Geez, talk about a paparazzi overload! I think I would go blind from this!

And because you really couldn’t hear a word they were saying over the constant camera clicks, here’s a better interview with the couple!

Yes, it’s all over the news today and I for some reason can’t take my eyes off of it. Prince William and Kate Middleton are engaged…..finally! They made it official last month on a private, (extremely private apparently), vacation to Kenya. How romantic! Of course everything is crazy hush, hush, and there’s not a lot of details about the whole ordeal, but we do know that they’ll be tying the knot either next spring or summer and that Prince William proposed with his mother’s engagement ring…an extremely large blue sapphire and diamond ring. Beautiful! With former Princess Diana and Prince Charles’s wedding being called the wedding of last century, I’m sure that Prince William and Kate’s is going to be quite the knockout for this century! Move over Chelsea Clinton!

I remember when I was younger, I thought Prince William was gorgeous. And I had tons of friends study abroad in London during college and the classic dialogue line before they left was always, “Go find Prince William and make him fall in love with you!” Ha. But in all honesty, as much as the public doesn’t know about Kate, she does seem to be quite a nice person and I find myself to be kind of obsessed with her fashion choices.

She’s just got it together, ya know? Which, I guess if you’re about to become the future Queen of England you kind of do have to have it together. I cannot wait to see who designs her gown, gah! Any guesses?

Super cute wedding toast put on by Broadway hubby and father of the bride. Read all about it here. It’s a really cute story.

I stayed in last night while the hubby was out and watched girly shows. I saw that Say Yes to the Dress is now in Atlanta. It’s kind of awesome because you get this extra drama now with bitchy controlling southern mommas and prima donna southern belles.

I also watched the second season of Four Weddings where 4 ladies go to each others’ weddings and judge them. The winner gets a free honeymoon. To me, this is a nightmare. Girls are judgmental enough without being handed score cards. I mean they’re not actually flashing cards during the event, but they are taking strong mental notes.

Watching 3 episodes in a row last night (exciting Friday night I know) has shown me that you can’t please everyone. You should just have a wedding that you (and your husband) love. I mean even among only 4 women, what one thought was gorgeous, another thought was tacky. Some women love to bedazzle everything, others are monogram obsessed, some love color and some wear black wedding dresses. Basically no one is ever going to have your eyes and brain and see your wedding like you do. So here’s my advice to you potential brides out there: don’t worry about what you think you’re supposed to do for a wedding, do what you like! Even if your ring bearer is R2D2 and your groomsmen are Storm Troopers.

Or your wedding dress is made of cream puffs.

Or you prefer making your wedding guests carry your mile long veil through the town.

Even if you recite your wedding vows to each other while repelling down the side of a building – a bit dangerous, but hey it’s your thang.

Do what you love!

Old news to some, but new to me. Anthropologie is launching a wedding line next spring 2011!!!! If I had known this was coming I would’ve postponed my wedding another 3 years! Frankly I don’t know what took them so long. Everyone who loves Anthropologie isn’t just obsessed with their clothes, but their whole aesthetic. I’d live in the store if I could. It sounds like they will not only be selling bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses, but invitations and decor doodads too. Oh snap, JCrew’s got competition now.

Since I posted wedding dresses for the Flickr Favs of the day, I may as well continue with the nuptial theme. My wedding photographer just sent me a link to her new blog showcasing all the new work she’s done. Her name is Linda Chaja and you can check out her new blog here. She did a fantastic job at our wedding and I would totally recommend her to anyone in California. She travels too, so  if you’re not in Cali, fear not!

Here are a few recent shots she’s taken.

She does baby portraits too! Look at the cute:
