I love the Food Network. Pretty much anything and everything to do with the Food Network. So it was SO cool when I tuned in to tonight’s new episode of Dinner Impossible to find out that it was being filmed on Carolina’s campus! For those of you not familiar with the show, it revolves around Chef Robert Irvine, a very large militant chef, who is thrown into “impossible” missions. He’s given the task to cook a large scale meal in ridiculous situations. In tonight’s episode, he has to feed 100 college students with food that he finds in dorm rooms. Ew. He can’t go to a grocery store and has to basically rely on the kindness of student’s pantries. Meaning he’s going to get a lot of ramen noodles, tostito chips, processed cheese products and beer.

Bon Appetite! Barf.

Sorry to all of you that I may offend with this video, but this was too funny to pass up. Especially with a husband who’s a die hard fan and a Carolina Alum. This may sting a little. Here’s to yet another night of Jeff throwing his shoe at our TV and coming up with even more imaginative excuses as to why his team sucks so bad. Yep, you guessed right. The Heels take on the Wolfpack tonight at 9:00pm. It’s guaranteed to be one for the ages. A battle between a team who brings more irony than I ever thought possible to Bruce Springsteen’s greatest hit Glory Days and a team that garners publicity only because their coach wears a hideous red jacket. Be sure to tune into your computer screens because this game is so important that it’s only being brought to you live via ESPN 360. Ouch.

I dedicate this to you, Randy.

Gone to Carolina!

E-L-O-N Lets got Elon!

E-L-O-N Lets got Elon!

After work today I’m off to North Carolina to get a little southern hospitality back in my life! I’m super stoked. I’m so looking forward to seeing family and friends. This time tomorrow, I’ll hopefully be sitting on the front porch of Sigma Nu, catching up with friends and getting ready for the UNC/ECU game. Then I’ll head off to Winston Salem for the Elon/Wake Forest game! I’m so excited for this game. Elon is my Alma Mater and  Wake Forest just happens to be my sister’s, so all I have to say is: It’s on like Donky Kong.

Can’t wait to get my college football fix! Lets hope it doesn’t rain :)

A: Oh SNAP.

football
Weeeeeeeeeeee! College football season is officially in swing! I’m such a happy girl :) There was absolutely nothing better about living in the south than getting up on a Saturday morning and getting ready for the big game at school, or the games on TV all day. That’s one thing that I miss terribly about the south. I love college football, maybe that explains why most of my friends were always boys? College football is no big deal up here, tear. But Jeff and I plan to head on over to Brother Jimmy’s to catch the ACC games. Brother Jimmy’s is awesome! It’s a bar basically dedicated to North Carolina sports teams. Duke and Carolina Alums primarily frequent there, but you’ll see the occasional Wake or State fan too. I’m pretty sure I’ll be the only Elon fan there, but that’s no surprise. So stoked for the long weekend and some great football!! Anyone have any exciting plans this weekend, or are there any games you’re particularly looking forward to?

A: I think Randy already told you we’re thinking of going to the Cal/Maryland game. We’ll be watching the Wake game on TV tomorrow. I wish I could get as psyched as you are about football season, but I think I’ve become prisoner to the west coast and its college sports apathy. I sometimes miss it though. But not enough to move back :)
