I’m sort of digging this Zac Posen dress at Target. It’s gotten really good reviews too. Just imagine it without the black ankle socks and instead with something like this. See? Cute.
UPDATE: One of our loyal readers, a rare male one in fact, commented that he hated the shoes I chose to go with this dress. You can read the comments, but basically he said he doesn’t like any shoes that cover the ankle because it makes your legs look stumpy. I hear that, but in my defense I chose them because:
1.) I was too lazy to look beyond one web page of shoes and
2.) I thought the dress needed an edgy shoe to give it some funk and not come off as “prommy.”
What do you guys think? Am I crazy?

Growing up, our mom had a tradition during Christmas that involved getting me and Anna new Christmas PJ’s to wear Christmas Eve and Christmas morning. I, personally, loved it. The jammies were usually pretty cute and comfy, especially when they were paired with those ridiculously soft, squishy socks. You know what I’m talking about? Yea you do. We all love the squishy socks. Granted, as we got older, some of the PJs got to be a little babyish, and oh how I wish I could find those high school pictures of Anna and awkward middle school pictures of me rocking out our Christmas jammies. Memories. Well, now that we’re older, wiser and more sophisticated (laughs to self), I find myself still wanting my Christmas PJs! So I did a little shopping around online and found some pretty cute ones at good old Vicky’s Secret, Target and Old Navy. No, I didn’t buy them, but I can still look. Please excuse the awkward sexy pictures of Victoria’s Secret models. Because we all know that ‘s exactly how I look when I wake up on Christmas morning!
Nothing like perfect hair and perfect makeup on Christmas morning. Unrealistic expectations people!
These are for your Anna
Haha.
SANTAS!
For some reason, I really like these pants from Target.
Old Navy has some awesome sales on PJ sets going on now. Get on it!
Happy Holidays!

It’s been awfully rainy lately up here in the big apple and I’ve discovered that I really need rain boots, (I justify my splurge shopping with my nonexistent money by telling my hubby that I really need something. Works every time, evil laugh). My personal fashion style has a tendency to fall into the preppy southern girl category. Yes, I was a cheerleader. Yes, I was in a sorority. Yes, I part my sometimes blonde/sometimes brown hair to the side and I like to wear pearls. I make it work. I’ve pretty much come to terms that my children will be dressed straight out of a J.Crew or Polo ad, and I’m kind of excited about it, but that’s a long time coming! So, naturally I would gravitate towards super preppy rain boots. I think I have a mild obsession with polka dots. Would I be making a gigantic fashion mistake if I purchased any of the following to wear when it’s rainy? I just want cute boots!

Candidate #1: Navy blue dots. Love navy blue, love dots...a good relationship of the two.

Candidate #2: Purple and dots. Getting crazy with the color, but will I look too much like Barney? I hate Barney. He creeps me out.

Candidate #3: Yummy green and fat dots. Are the dots obnoxiously large?

Candidate #4: Woah now, getting crazy with the plaid. Too much?
Part of me feels like these boots would virtually turn me into a walking billboard that screams “I’m from the south and don’t belong!” But I’m slightly in love with them. Lets face it, I’m the girl who would still rock ribbons in my hair if it was socially acceptable. But it’s not, and I’d like to keep my friends.
Lets start a poll. Which boots should I buy? Leave your vote in the comments section!
A: Ohhhhh I remember the days when the “I really NEED this” worked on the hubster. Not so much anymore. He finally figured out that I needed everything. Maybe it was the 18th pair of shoes that I needed that gave it away. I dunno. I have needs you know!
Anyway, as for the rain boots, “wellies” as the cool kids say, or “galoshes” as I still say, I meant to tell you before you moved to NYC that they would be a HUGE investment. I mean now that you’re walking a lot and it rains there, boots are perfect. I got so tired of arriving at work with wet pant legs that I bought some a few years ago. I love mine. They make me look like Wonder Woman (they’re red with turquoise bottoms).
I used to think you may as well go all out and have fun with it since you’re wearing these clunky things in the rain. Buy a crazy color! But now, I think either crazy or traditional would work. I love me some black and white polka dots! Does that make me a prepster too?
I found these on Overstock.com that I like.
K: The silver ones are Hunter boots! Those are nice. And yes, the first boots are black and white, not navy. Funny how my brain automatically thinks navy, so preppy.

Cutie
For some reason, I’m really into print shoes. And I absolutely adore these from Target. I used to have the cutest pair of leopard print flats and I wore them until they had holes in them and my mom threw them away without telling me, ouch. Anywho, I just purchased these cuties and I’m super stoked! I’m thinking about getting some rain boots too, but I don’t know which ones. Decisions.
What do you think? Don’t you just love Target shoes? Stylish and affordable! Too bad our nearest Target is in Brooklyn. Womp.
