Red Velvet Pancakes

This is what I had for breakfast when I was in Santa Barbara last weekend.

Yep. That’s right.
RED VELVET PANCAKES.
Pure deliciousness.

They were from CrushCakes Cupcakery. You may have seen them on Cupcake Wars on the Food Network.

They’re known for their Red Velvet cupcake. Unfortunately when I revisited later in the day they were already sold out. So, I tried the strawberry one.

This is by far one of the best cupcakes I’ve ever had! Even better than the pancakes! Mmm CrushCakes, how I miss you.

I’m going to Santa Barbara this weekend, and one of my favorite plants there is the Bougainvillea or “Paper Flower.” They’re everywhere! If I could’ve managed to wrap my entire wedding in them, I would have.

My absolute favorite is this super rich crimson color.

Since I posted wedding dresses for the Flickr Favs of the day, I may as well continue with the nuptial theme. My wedding photographer just sent me a link to her new blog showcasing all the new work she’s done. Her name is Linda Chaja and you can check out her new blog here. She did a fantastic job at our wedding and I would totally recommend her to anyone in California. She travels too, so  if you’re not in Cali, fear not!

Here are a few recent shots she’s taken.

She does baby portraits too! Look at the cute:

Since we’re all girls here, or most of us reading this are (hey boys!), we thought it’d be fun to post a wedding that we really liked or thought was interesting every week. This week we’re shamelessly promoting Anna’s wedding in Santa Barbara. The ceremony took place at the Santa Barbara Courthouse (it’s free!) and the reception was at the Four Seasons Biltmore.

In order to save money, she kept the wedding small (about 40 people). Her wedding dress(es) were floor samples. She designed and printed the invitations herself, ordered wholesale flowers and potted plants for the flowers, and had her little sister (that’s me!) bake and ice 40 cupcakes to give as favors :) There was a fun Polaroid station at the cocktail hour too that her wonderful friends helped man.

It turned out to be a wonderful and personal day and we hope that others can see that having a beautiful wedding doesn’t have to be crazy expensive. Adding personal details will make both you and your guests feel special, as well as make your wedding memorable! Check out some pictures that the wonderful Linda Chaja took.
