So this isn’t new news. The figure skating outfits this Olympics have been a little crazy looking. We happen to love it though and say the more sequins, chiffon and feathers (oh my!) the better. Bring. It. ON. Ohh it’s already been BROUGHTEN!
Erm, excuse me, yeah what was I saying? Right, costumes. Seriously though, what other event in the Olympics allows you to dress up in head to toe spandex, wrap yourself in streamers and throw up jazz hands to win a medal? You’ve gotta love it. So take a gander at some of our favorites from this year and let us know what you think. Auf Wiedersehen!

To follow up our Cool Runnings post from this weekend, we thought we’d post quite possibly the best game of all time – the 1980 Olympic hockey game between the USA and the USSR in Lake Placid. I literally get goosebumps every time I see the game footage. I also get the urge to shout “Beat those Commie bastards!”

Every time I watch bobsledding at the Olympics, I can’t help but think of the movie Cool Runnings. I loved this movie when it came out. It’s based on a real Jamaican Olympic bobsled team ya know man?

Not sure what sort of fashion they have in Norway, but the Norwegian men’s curling team is rockin’ some awesome argyle pants this Olympics. Way to wear the pants guys!
In honor of the upcoming Olympic games, Willie decided to take part in his own event that unfortunately hasn’t been added as an official Olympic sport quite yet. Here’s his gold medal effort in the Men’s Upside Down Doggy Bobsled!
Whew, sorry for the absence. Mommyhood has been keeping me on my toes I used to really hate getting up at 6:00am every morning, but now that I’m greeted with a fluff ball of love, it makes the early wake up call just a little better. While giving Willie his breakfast this morning I watched a segment on The Today Show that was debuting team USA’s Opening Ceremony outfits for the Winter Olympics, (which are in 9 days btw, weee!) Polo Ralph Lauren is the official designer of the outfits and as an extremely preppy girl, with an extremely preppy husband, and a soon to be very preppy doggy…..this just makes me happy. What do y’all think of them?
I freaking love the Olympics and can’t wait to spend 2 weeks watching all of the figure skating, skiing and bobsledding! Jeff and I are already making plans to go to the 2012 Olympics in London. Michael Phelps, I’m comingggggggg!
