Usually I try to keep this blog lighthearted and fun and not get into too many controversial issues beyond who’s the hottest Twilight stud or which Anthro dress is cuter, but I couldn’t overlook what happened today and since it’s half my blog, I’ve got to share a piece of my mind.
The Supreme Court’s ruling for unlimited political spending by corporations is really quite terrifying. No really. People are calling it a “dark day for Americans.” Images of Wall-E came to mind. Yes I said Wall-E. You know, when the Earth is run by the corporation Buy N Large and the world goes to crap and all the humans have to move to space. Yeah, well my mind jumped there when I heard this news. You may laugh, but think of the ramifications.
Under today’s decision, insurance companies, banks, drug companies, energy companies, whoever will be free to each spend millions of dollars of corporate funds to elect or defeat a candidate – this means that they can essentially buy influence over the candidate’s positions on issues of economic importance to the companies.
How in ANY way possible is this good news for Americans? Who wants a country run by Exxon?? I don’t want my president’s decisions to be based on what benefits some corporation. What happened to a government of the people, by the people, for the people?
That’s it. I’m packing for space.

Ok no I’m not, but I would be if I wore designer Miguel Caballero’s clothes. They say he designed the suit that Obama wore to his inauguration. You can buy his impenetrable fashions at Harrod’s for a near impenetrable price tag. This polo shirt for instance is $7200. But hey, you can’t put a price on life! Caballero’s fashions are able to withstand Ak-47 rounds and 9mm rounds as well. For an extra fee you can also get protection from knife stabs.
And I love their marketing. For “high protection,” you can be shot by a min-uzi and look fashionable! Don’t believe me? Watch this video of a guy getting shot while wearing one of his designer leather jackets.
