I can understand canceling a flight when it looks like this. But last time I checked, this NEVER happens in NC.
Well folks, good news. The Airport Gods were good to us today and Jeff and I were able to get out of New York before the behemoth of a blizzard rolled into town. Whew. And to make the deal even sweeter, they threw in free wireless on our flight. That’s right, I’m broadcasting to you live currently from 30,000 feet above sea level. Pretty sweet deal. After such a crappy ordeal with being one of only 2 flights canceled out of Laguardia to Raleigh-Durham yesterday, I’d say that Delta has somewhat redeemed themselves for their minor freak out about the possibility of there being snow at RDU airport. A possibility that was proven false, as the airport only saw rain, rain and more rain throughout the evening hours. LAME.
But, yippee skippee, we’re on our way home to good old NC; well hopefully. We still have one more flight out of Atlanta. So cross your fingers and toes that all goes well or else we’re renting a car and taking our chances on the road. We’re looking forward to seeing lots of family, warmer temperatures, (warmer meaning 40 degrees as opposed to the normal 20 we’ve grown accustomed to), and stuffing our faces with Christmas goodies. Weight loss New Year’s Resolution here we come!

Remember when I was being a whiny little girl and complaining about always wanting a white Christmas and how it wasn’t fair that North Carolina never got any snow? Well, guess what? It’s currently snowing in good old NC. And guess what else? Because of the “blizzard” my flight’s been cancelled this evening and we’re stuck in NYC. Thank you Delta Airlines for canceling our flight on the chance of there being “a lot” of snow at Raleigh-Durham Airport. A lot meaning 1-3 inches. Remember people, this is the south. When I was in high school, they cancelled school once because there was a chance of snow. Talk about mother nature rearing her ugly head and giving me a big slap in the face. Oh well. This just gives me extra time to find even more stuff to cram into my already overflowing suitcase. And maybe I can convince Jeffers to order in some yummy food so that I don’t have to cook!
