Roger about his white office,
“I feel like with my hair you can’t even see me in here.”

This is the first post of many I will be making about 60s fashion. I looooove it. All the gogo boots, mini skirts, big hair and crazy colors. Yes, there will be much more to come. But for now, here’s a little history fact I learned. Jean Shrimpton (pictured below) was the first to coin the term “mini skirt.” She was considered the icon of “Swinging London” and one of the world’s first super models. She actually came a little before Twiggy and broke the model mold with her long legs and slim figure. She was known for her “long hair with bangs, wide doe-eyes ,long wispy eyelashes, arched brows, and pouty lips.”

I had the privilege of staying at The Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica for a few days (work expensed!). The interior design is by Kelly Wearstler whose style I adore. It is super mod with lots of black white and gray with accent colors. I’m actually trying to slowly but surely model our bedroom after this place. (Some day I’ll post pictures when it’s clean enough!)
It makes a great wedding location too. Every room and wall would be a gorgeous backdrop if that’s your style. The wedding below is one of my favorites I’ve seen there. They played up the 60s mod look and used colors from the hotel (black, white and yellow) in their wedding. So creative! And I love the fact that she has a getaway dress. You don’t see enough of those! So vintage.

Sorry about the cheesy title. I just can’t bear to have generic ones though. Anyhoo. I’m sure you all know about Modcloth, and if not, you’re in for a treat! They have some really cute things right now for winter. Here are just a few things I found:
Perfect holiday dresses OR bridesmaid dresses. Seriously think about it. They’re under $100 too!
This is my “Mod Men” collection. Get it? Haha.
