Halloween

Just a friendly reminder to set those DVRs or tune in at 8:00pm on FOX to watch the Glee kids do the Time Warp! I have seriously already started jumping up and down in my seat at work in anticipation of this episode. Gah! It’s going to be great! I’m definitely going to have to do a post afterwards about my reactions to the show. I originally wanted to do a live blog during the show, but then I remembered:

1. I have a meeting tonight at 7:00 on the Upper West Side, so I’m going to have to DVR the show to begin with…le sigh.

2. I get angry if Jeff so much as speaks and distracts my attention during the show….how could I do a live blog and manage to type and watch the show at the same time?

So, after the show it is! But no worries, I’ll schedule it to post at midnight East Coast time so that I don’t spoil the show for our lovely west coast readers :)

Let me know what you think of the episode as well. We love to get your feedback, (and personally I’d love to find someone who’s just as obsessed with this show as I am so I can feel a little less weird!)

I Want Candy

Last year I made some ghoulish labels to go on wine bottles, as well as place cards to go in front of our “cocktail” bowl. It was something really quick and easy to do and details like that are fun for guests to read. In case you’re thinking about having a Halloween get-together, I made a few labels below that you can click on and print out. Go nuts.

So like I said in my last post, I have done pretty much nothing to celebrate Halloween this year because work has been so busy. But I do still have a lot of ideas to share from my Halloween extravaganza last year so here goes. First off, our Halloween party playlist. And if you don’t want to download them all, definitely consider making a Grooveshark playlist. It’s awesome.

Bad Things – Jace Everett
I Put a Spell on You – Nina Simone
Beetlejuice theme song – Danny Elfman
Love Potion No. 9 – The Searchers
This is Halloween
– Panic at the Disco
Ghostbusters
(of course!)
Purple People Eater
Werewolves of London
– Warren Zevon
Maneater
(Hall and Oats and/or Nelly Furtado)
Monster Mash
Disturbia – Rihanna
Witchy Woman – The Eagles
Thriller – Michael Jackson
Scream – Silkk the Shocker
Full Moon – The Black Ghosts
Black Magic Woman – Santana
Red Right Hand – Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Zombie – The Cranberries
Sympathy for the Devil – Rolling Stones
The Devil Went Down to Georgia – Charlie Daniels Band
Devil Inside – INXS
Super Freak – Rick James
Psycho Killer – Talking Heads
Murder Ballad in G Minor – The Rosewood Thieves
Uprising – Muse
She Wolf – Shakira
Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing – Chris Isaac

And of course all the traditional spooky Halloween party music like Jaws theme!

Hope this helps some. Feel free to add to it if you have more!

Halloween FAIL

So last year at this time, I was unemployed and planning a very elaborate Halloween party at our apartment. This year, I am employed and have given absolutely ZERO thought about Halloween, and it’s next weekend! Last year I was crafting my Lady GaGa ensemble as well as my husband’s Stewy costume. This year, nada. No costume, no ideas. Last year I was dressing up Jack and parading him around the pumpkin festival in his devil dog costume, this year I slapped on some spider legs to his back and paraded him around the apartment. SO yeah, you get the idea. This year, Halloween FAIL.

BUT! fear not. I thought I could at least share some of my Halloween ideas from last year, in case anyone else has their act together. Posts to come…

Baby GaGa

Hot on the heels of our Doggie GaGa post, I couldn’t resist posting this: Baby GaGa!

And don’t fear! Those of you with baby boys can do: Baby Jackson!

Yeah, that baby fro isn’t disturbing at all.

More Doggie GaGa!

I’m thinking maybe Jack or Willie could go as Doggie GaGa this year? What think?

One of my favorite designers (also named Anna!) has come out with a set of Halloween stationery. You can buy them here at Anna Bond from Rifle Paper Co. They’re all so cute, I don’t know which is my favorite! I love her work so much, it makes me want to take up painting again. Maybe someday I’ll get my arse in gear. I did do a little painting last Christmas for Jack’s Master. That counts right? Shameless self-promotion here. I’m going to try to do an updated series this year – maybe add a little Jersey Shore to the mix. Who knows!

So I’ve returned from the cosmic black hole that sucked me into its depths. Lame excuse, sorry :( Anyway, compared to my sis, I had a pretty laid back Halloween. Jeffers is not all that into dressing up, or even the holiday of Halloween itself, so needless to say, there were no costumes this year. Sniff. Anyway, so on the way home from work last week I passed by Bergdorf’s windows and was stunned. They were so cool!! Check them out:

Bergdorf’s always has such awesome windows, I can’t even fathom how long it takes for them to create these things. Can’t wait for the Christmas displays!
