Real Alumni of Genius

I usually get at least 2 emails from Elon University a day. Yes, that seems like a lot, but what can I say, they’re really good about keeping in touch with their alumni. I usually peruse these emails and then file them away in my “Elon” folder in my inbox, but today’s email was a bit different. In an effort to increase alumni gift giving to my alma mater, Elon put together this beauty of a video that literally made me laugh out loud. Granted, unless you’re an alumni, you won’t really understand the inside jokes that go along with this video, but you can at least laugh at how silly it is :)

Nothing like President Lambert and Dr. Danieley as sportscasters, ha! I love my school :)

The Legend of the Greek Week Dance

I had a pretty amazing college career. I loved college. I went to one of the most beautiful universities in the country, and it was at this university that a certain tradition was born. A tradition deeply rooted in the Greek Life system that produced strong rivalries and cut throat competition that could leave the faint of heart crying in a corner. No, I’m not kidding. Everyone knows that when the month of April rolls around, Elon University sororities are frantically busy preparing for the annual Greek Week Dance Competition. What is that you may ask? Well, let me tell you! My life revolved around this competition all 4 years of my college career. I. LOVED. IT. My sorority, Sigma Kappa, would begin preparing for this competition in January….preparing choreography, designing costumes, building the set etc. It was a process, a very intricate process, and a process that the entire sorority helped with and supported totally.

Shout Out to our Readers!

The coolest thing happened to me last night. I decided to take a little trip up to my old stomping grounds at Elon to check out this year’s Greek Week Dance Competition (more to come on this later!). Anywho, when the show was over, I was on my way out of the gym and I got stopped by the nicest girl. She’s friends with one of my sorority sisters and she just wanted to say that she was a fan of our blog and that she reads it everyday. That made me feel so great! It’s always so wonderful to know that people take the time out of their day to stop on by 2SistersBlog and see what’s going on. I, of course, immediately called my sister to tell her that we were famous on Elon University’s campus and she was just as excited as I was, haha.

So, thanks to the sweet Elon girl, who I do believe was an AZD, for stopping me and saying hello! This is our official shout out to you. Thanks for making us feel famous and for being a #1 fan!
