In this episode of “How I spent my weekend,” we show you what happens when 2 amateur hikers go spelunking in the California wilderness.

Super Hubby moving boulders out of the way so we can pass and then offering me a hand as we descend into the bowels of the earth. No seriously. We went down into that hole there – that’s what the little arrows spray painted on the wall told us to do. I swear if there had been anything glowing red down there I’d have turn around and run.

It’s like we’re in the Goonies! But no treasures and the only sloths around are us.
And then once we ascended, we saw this rock formation:

Is it just me or do those rocks above seem a bit, how shall I put this, anatomically correct?

That’s what Jeff and I have been for the past few weeks, but I’m happy to say that we are all moved in to our new apartment now! After several hours of painting walls and one too many trips to IKEA, we can now be pretty proud of our little home :) It’s been nice making this place feel like us, and Willie seems to be pretty happy with his new digs too! Check out the finished product!

The kitchen that I already blogged about. Still kinda proud of it :)

One side of the living room. Jeffers picked out both paint colors, way to go! We still need something to go over the coach. Baby steps though.

Our hallway. Bookshelf and baskets all from IKEA.

Other side of the living room. We still shamelessly display our wedding pictures…everywhere. It’s a shrine. I swear we have friends.

This is what we like to call our “breakfast nook.” The fact that we can have a breakfast nook in the city makes us ridiculously happy. And there are more wedding pictures, sigh.

And finally the bedroom. No, it’s not very manly, poor Jeffy. But he seems to be OK with it. Maybe.

Still more to do, but we’re taking a break for now!!

Okay, he may not be a “beefcake” per se, maybe more like a “cutie pie.” Anyway, I love his bad boy character, Jesse, on Breaking Bad. He even won an Emmy last night for best supporting actor! Since I’m partial to his character, here are some more bad boy pictures.

4.) January Jones dress - Yes, I know. Most people are hating it. I don’t care though. I love it. It’s fashion-forward and refreshingly unique – even if it is being described as something that was “caught in a tornado of coffee filters, Madge’s vintage cone tits, Pepsi cans and cocktail umbrellas.”

“Seriously, January looks like she was in the middle of some hair-pulling sexy times with a married dude when his wife came home and so she had to jump out of the window fully nekkid! Then she was forced to make a dress with shit found in the recycle bin and a bottle of blue spray paint from the garage. The freshly fucked hair just pulls the whole beautiful mess together.”

This evening I am going to get my first ever facial. And not only that, but it’s going to be a laser facial. I know it sounds scary. But before you picture my face being burned off leaving me with bacon for skin, I’ve done research about it and it’s perfectly safe and pain free. It’s also $250 off the normal price thanks to Groupon. So wish me luck. I’m off to get zapped!

“Lasers”

UPDATE! It’s over! And I still have a face! It didn’t hurt at all really. It just feels like something warm shining on your face. It is a little scary when you first smell burning, but they explain (and show) that it’s just your facial hair that’s burning. Hmm nothing quite like the smell of charred peach fuzz.

As far as results, all I really notice right now is a smoothness to the face and smaller pores. I don’t know what I really expected to happen (I walk out looking like Angelina). Even the lady that worked on my face had some wrinkles and blotches. I sort of expected her face to look flawless given that she does this kind of thing for a living. OR maybe she’s actually 109. Looking 55 isn’t so bad anymore. Now THAT would be impressive and I’d definitely do this again. Guess I’ll never know.
