Karen and I are married and have already depleted our registry. But those of you who aren’t, here’s my chance to live vicariously through you! Register for this china! It’s Wedgwood (of course) by Jasper Conran and it’s the Chinoiserie pattern in green. It’s nothing new, I’ve seen it around and LOVED it. But I could never figure out who it was by or where it was from. But now I know!   If you’re interested, you can buy it on Amazon or at Bloomingdales or really anywhere. Just Google the name. Then let me know when you get it and take pretty pictures of it like the ones above. Hehe.

In response to Anna’s post, I’d like to throw my hand way up in the air and scream like a little girl, “ME! I’M WATCHING THE ROYAL WEDDING LIVE!” In fact, I’m watching it live on one channel and then re-watching it on another channel. I’m stoked. I was supposed to be watching it at home in NC tomorrow morning, but in a not so surprising turn of events….my flight home got cancelled this evening. Shocking I know. But, I’ve got my coffee to keep me going, my comfy jammies, and my DVR remote so I can rewind over and over to get a good luck at Kate’s dress. I’m literally going to have to dash out the door as soon as it’s over to catch my flight….but I am not missing that kiss on the balcony of Buckingham Palace! Perhaps I will try to live blog while watching it, but lets be honest, I’ll be doing great if I can actually keep my eyes open at 3:00am in the morning. Oh God, that’s 3 hours from now. Perhaps I should go to sleep?

Jadeite Love

I can’t begin to tell you how much I love me some jadeite. I only own one piece – the cake stand from my wedding – but I would collect so much more if I had the space. I wanted to sprinkle the tablescapes at my wedding with little jadeite vases and saucers and whatever else I could get my hands on, but it didn’t work out. Turned out, it would be crazy expensive. So instead I just had the cake stand. (Another thing I’m obsessed with and don’t need 20 of – cake stands. But that’s another post.)

Beautiful assortments of white flowers would look fabulous with jadeite, making the green really pop. But I also found that bright pinky-reds and their direct contrast with the light green, make a beautiful combo too. Here’s a little mood board I threw together. I used some of these images when I was planning my own wedding and juggling about 100 mood boards.

So Karen had a bridal shower to host this past weekend and the theme was “Around the Clock.” I had never heard of this before. For those of you who also haven’t, basically what happens is each guest is assigned an hour of the day and they are supposed to coordinate their gift with that time. For example 9am might be a breakfasty kind of gift or 10pm might be a cocktail-related gift. You get the idea. Anyway, so I was helping Karen prepare for the festivities the day before and got to thinking more about this “time” theme. That’s when we put together a ridiculous playlist all revolving around time, or clocks. We giggled to ourselves about someone actually taking the theme so seriously that they played only this at their shower.

Here’s what we came up with, if you’ve got any more, we’d love to hear them.

Look out BHLDN, David’s Bridal is now carrying Vera Wang dresses in their new “White” collection. Dresses run from about $700-$1400 and they’re really quite gorgeous. This is exactly what David’s Bridal has been needing. No offense to DB brides, but they’ve been needing a fresh new look for a while now. Just some new styles to mix it up. I love how designers are working more and more with affordable brands – like Christian Siriano for Payless Shoes, Target’s “Go International” with Zac Posen and Anna Sui, H&M and Jimmy Choo etc. Thanks for bringing high fashion to the people guys!

Here are a few Vera Wang dresses from David’s Bridal. Check them all out here.

OK I don’t know what’s gotten into me, but I’m obsessed with wedding stuff lately. Not I’m not getting remarried. Wedding stuff is just so pretty (whiny voice).

So I’m like a week or more behind on this news, but it’s new news to me; Anthropologie’s wedding brand BHLDN is launching on Valentine’s Day!! BHLDN actually stands for “Beholden” I found out. Fortunately for me, since I’m already married (dammit) BHLDN will not only do weddings, but special occasions in general as well. It was decided that Anthropologie was an established enough brand, and that a completely new formal event brand was needed, hence BHLDN. I cannot WAIT to see the new site when it launches. I love all the textures and details in the teaser pics already. Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous! I would kill to work for them. Maybe they’ll need wedding invitation designers later. HELLO ANTHROPOLOGIE GODS. If you’re out there, I AM AVAILABLE! :)

Cotton Wedding!

I stumbled across this wedding online and love it! It’s so different; devoid of a lot of color and lots of flowers, but still beautiful and organic, with lots of cotton.

It was done by event planners Red Velvet Occasions. The dessert station was by Sweet & Saucy Shop and photography by Jasmine Star.

Geez, talk about a paparazzi overload! I think I would go blind from this!

And because you really couldn’t hear a word they were saying over the constant camera clicks, here’s a better interview with the couple!

Yes, it’s all over the news today and I for some reason can’t take my eyes off of it. Prince William and Kate Middleton are engaged…..finally! They made it official last month on a private, (extremely private apparently), vacation to Kenya. How romantic! Of course everything is crazy hush, hush, and there’s not a lot of details about the whole ordeal, but we do know that they’ll be tying the knot either next spring or summer and that Prince William proposed with his mother’s engagement ring…an extremely large blue sapphire and diamond ring. Beautiful! With former Princess Diana and Prince Charles’s wedding being called the wedding of last century, I’m sure that Prince William and Kate’s is going to be quite the knockout for this century! Move over Chelsea Clinton!

I remember when I was younger, I thought Prince William was gorgeous. And I had tons of friends study abroad in London during college and the classic dialogue line before they left was always, “Go find Prince William and make him fall in love with you!” Ha. But in all honesty, as much as the public doesn’t know about Kate, she does seem to be quite a nice person and I find myself to be kind of obsessed with her fashion choices.

She’s just got it together, ya know? Which, I guess if you’re about to become the future Queen of England you kind of do have to have it together. I cannot wait to see who designs her gown, gah! Any guesses?
