Identity Crisis #2

Well I went to the salon again to get my roots touched up and to get a haircut. Something got into me though and I decided to chop it all off for the first time ever. I’ve never had short hair in my entire life. What compelled me to do this? Boredom? Probably. I also stumbled across this photo of January Jones and thought her hair was cute. My hair is naturally wavy, so if it could look like this and require less maintenance, I’m all for it. So, tah dah!

Oh, and I got glasses too.

UPDATE: Someone just compared my haircut to the second season of Felicity. Grrrreat.

It’s Alive!

Well, not really. As many of you I’m sure have noticed, I’ve been missing in action to the extreme. I know, I know, that’s nothing out of the ordinary for the terrible blogger that I am, but this time, I had a serious issue. My computer died :( My beautiful MacBook screen has a HUGE black line running through it. I have no idea where on Earth it came from, but the poor little guy is currently spending time at the doctor, hopefully being fixed. Meanwhile, I’ve figured out how to bypass the work security features and I can blog from my work computer! Woohoo! Back in business baby!

PS- While searching for a picture for this blog post, I stumbled upon the new Google Images. Way cool! Good job Google!

Catalog Living

This is probably one of the funniest sites I’ve seen in a while. It’s called Catalog Living and it’s a blog dedicated to all of those home and lifestyle magazines out there that have obscenely perfect scenes on each and every page (cough, cough, Pottery Barn, cough). Basically the bloggers take you into the fictional lives of “Gary” and “Elaine” and how they live their day to day lives in the pages of your favorite magazines. It’s hysterical. Here are some of my favorite entries, but be sure to pay them a little visit and enjoy the others!

I laughed at the last one for like 15 minutes straight, no lie.

My Avatar

I was bored at work and found this site to make my own avatar. The site randomly assigns you your description. I got “The Socialite” and everyone gets a rating of awesome. Just wanted you to know so you didn’t think I was a narcissist. Check it out:

I’m still getting used to the idea of having blond hair and yes I spent waaaay too much time designing this.

I had a pretty amazing college career. I loved college. I went to one of the most beautiful universities in the country, and it was at this university that a certain tradition was born. A tradition deeply rooted in the Greek Life system that produced strong rivalries and cut throat competition that could leave the faint of heart crying in a corner. No, I’m not kidding. Everyone knows that when the month of April rolls around, Elon University sororities are frantically busy preparing for the annual Greek Week Dance Competition. What is that you may ask? Well, let me tell you! My life revolved around this competition all 4 years of my college career. I. LOVED. IT. My sorority, Sigma Kappa, would begin preparing for this competition in January….preparing choreography, designing costumes, building the set etc. It was a process, a very intricate process, and a process that the entire sorority helped with and supported totally.

The coolest thing happened to me last night. I decided to take a little trip up to my old stomping grounds at Elon to check out this year’s Greek Week Dance Competition (more to come on this later!). Anywho, when the show was over, I was on my way out of the gym and I got stopped by the nicest girl. She’s friends with one of my sorority sisters and she just wanted to say that she was a fan of our blog and that she reads it everyday. That made me feel so great! It’s always so wonderful to know that people take the time out of their day to stop on by 2SistersBlog and see what’s going on. I, of course, immediately called my sister to tell her that we were famous on Elon University’s campus and she was just as excited as I was, haha.

So, thanks to the sweet Elon girl, who I do believe was an AZD, for stopping me and saying hello! This is our official shout out to you. Thanks for making us feel famous and for being a #1 fan!

Have you guys heard of the lying down game? It amazes me the kinds of trends that catch on. Something so ridiculously simple as lying face down on the ground and taking a picture. Yet it seems to be pretty popular. I can’t help but have the urge to do it too. If I were going to lie face down somewhere though and take a photo, it would be either in front of a cable car full of tourists or somewhere scenic like in front of The Painted Ladies. Where would you do it? Come on, you know you want to.

Check out more photos here.
