OK i know i’m married, but we went out last night – me, the hub, and a few friends – to a bar and I swear, i looked around and i really saw no normal or remotely normal looking or behaving guys. I’m defining “normal” as: anyone who can carry on a conversation without passing out in between sentences and/or anyone not wearing a smoking jacket and doing the Night at the Roxbury dance in front of my table.
Now granted we could’ve chosen a dud bar or were just having an off night, but I swear this meat market stank. My friends and I discussed this and decided it doesn’t really matter where you are, it’s not easy to meet a nice guy in a bar b/c usually the good ones are either already on a date or are hanging out in a pack with their buddies. The only chance of of the pack breaking up is if the alpha dog should make a move towards the ladies and the others follow. This was my husband’s theory at least. He claims to not be an alpha dog but more of a peripheral dog. this makes me feel like courting someone is like drawing up some sort of plan of attack during war. “I’ll create a diversion with free shots. You go down the middle and attract their attention while the rest of you surround them from the rear.”
Anyway I don’t have a point really except 1. Thank God i don’t have to deal with the dating scene and 2. Nice guys if you’re reading this, it’s okay to leave your pack and approach us. Just please don’t use any pickup lines or be wearing a smoking jacket – unless you’re Hugh Hefner.
