My dad recently emailed me this article to tell me my childhood preschool and kindergarten is closing. It was open for 50 years. It makes me a little sad. I loved my teachers Mrs. Gray, Mrs. Long and Mrs. Kennedy and have a lot of fond memories playing there. It’s funny to see in the 2 pictures shown how little the classroom has changed since I was there in ’86.

Well in case you haven’t heard, May 21, 2011 is the end of the world. You can read more about that here. Some people are throwing parties, some people are forming Facebook groups for those that will be “Left Behind.”

A Facebook page titled “Post rapture looting” offers this invitation: “When everyone is gone and God’s not looking, we need to pick up some sweet stereo equipment and maybe some new furniture for the mansion we’re going to squat in.” By Wednesday afternoon, more than 175,000 people indicated they would be “attending” the “public event.”

Others reactions were this:

“Go to your local thrift store. Buy a bunch of clothing. Scatter what look like outfits across the lawns of the congregations who believe in this. They will arrive Sunday morning to find the empty clothing of people taken. This means that they got Left Behind. ”

“I’ve only met 2 people who said they believe this Judgment Day tripe.
But when I asked them to write me a check and post-date it for May 23, their belief wavered.”

“This is great news! I don’t have to mow my lawn or go to my mother-in-laws on Sunday….YAHOOOOO!”

I for one would also not be excited about the world ending on Saturday, but in case it does, the bright side is my birthday was supposed to be Wednesday which means I never had a chance to turn 30, which means I’ll forever be 29 baby!
