So evidently MTV is teaming up with Foursquare to encourage teens to get checked out for STDs. Their campaign is called “GYT” Get Yourself Tested. They’re tying to make getting tested cool. I think it’s a good idea, but I just don’t feel like Foursquare is the best partner for this.
In case you don’t know anything about Foursquare, it’s a smart phone application that tells friends and strangers where you are. It’s a way to broadcast to your fans how social you are and how many cool places you’ve been. It’s also a great tool for stalkers. But that’s beside the point. You can also earn badges for places you visit and things you do. They look something like these:
So I understand teenagers like to follow what everyone else is doing and brag about what they do, but going to the clinic to get checked for STDs isn’t one of them.
“Sally May just checked in to Planned Parenthood.”
Am I right? No one wants to broadcast that, let alone get a special badge showing you got tested. You may as well have a Scarlet Letter on your page. To prove my argument, here is a sample of what it could look like:
We coined this new STD badge, the “Vadge.” Seems more appropriate no?
Don’t worry, we thought of a badge for the boys too:
So go now, get tested and get your Vadge!
Announce it to the world!
I HAVE CRABS!!
Or don’t.

Well I went to the salon again to get my roots touched up and to get a haircut. Something got into me though and I decided to chop it all off for the first time ever. I’ve never had short hair in my entire life. What compelled me to do this? Boredom? Probably. I also stumbled across this photo of January Jones and thought her hair was cute. My hair is naturally wavy, so if it could look like this and require less maintenance, I’m all for it. So, tah dah!
UPDATE: Someone just compared my haircut to the second season of Felicity. Grrrreat.

I love my Rpattz 2010 calendar and thought maybe there would be nothing to top it, but this might be it. Amazing.

The folks at Jezebel posted the latest J Crew catalog and had some pretty hilarious comments about the supposed “hot” new looks for fall.
Mixing and matching accessories that have a bordello-chic vintagey vibe,
as though grandma was a pricey hooker.
Pretending to be a spy so far undercover that it’s okay to seem like you’re
pretending to be a spy.
And my favorite:
The What Would Jesus Do If He Were CEO? look.
In this episode of “How I spent my weekend,” we show you what happens when 2 amateur hikers go spelunking in the California wilderness.
Super Hubby moving boulders out of the way so we can pass and then offering me a hand as we descend into the bowels of the earth. No seriously. We went down into that hole there – that’s what the little arrows spray painted on the wall told us to do. I swear if there had been anything glowing red down there I’d have turn around and run.
It’s like we’re in the Goonies! But no treasures and the only sloths around are us.
And then once we ascended, we saw this rock formation:
Is it just me or do those rocks above seem a bit, how shall I put this, anatomically correct?
