Ohhh check out that awesome 8.5x11 well-designed sign!
So after finally, FINALLY getting into the city last night, Karen and I woke up at 5am to go camp outside the Today Show with our friend KT. We show up to a longish line of tweens and hop in ready for battle. Evidently some had camped there overnight, but we rolled up promptly at 6:15am. Soon afterward they herded us into the Today Show gated area where we all scrambled around to claim a front row spot. We had no idea of knowing where He would be standing, if He would run around the fenced in area slapping all of our hands as He passed by. We just picked a front row spot and claimed it as ours and hoped for the best. And BY GOD it was THE BEST. So I (sister A) was the first one to spot Him coming up the escalator inside and proceeded to slap the stranger’s arm in front of me and yell an expletive in my excitement. You could tell it was Him. It was like He had a halo over Him the way His highlights gleamed. Gorgeous. Beautiful. Sparkly. And then, He came outside, into the light, and oh what? What did He do? Did He go to the tweens carrying the massive Edward blanket across the way? Or the people with the giant sparkly sign asking to be bitten? Oh no. He made an immediate right turn towards US! We couldn’t believe it! He was making His way down the line right towards US! He was mere feet away. Soon I was taking photos of Him from literally 1 foot away. I was pretty much in His face. Shameless. And then, I’m not kidding, I think I peed myself a little (TMI?) and literally was shaking with excitement. Mouth gaping open. Karen was elbowing me saying something like “OMG He’s coming towards us.” But it was all such a blur. He stopped in front of us. Signed our 8.5×11 sign – after READING it out loud to Himself. And I got up enough courage to blubber, “Caan wwwe get a picture with you!?” KT was the best human being EVER to take it for us and before he could leave, I had one more thing I had to check off my list. I ripped off my glove and I don’t even know if I asked, stuck out my hand and He touched mine and we shook. Then He shook Karen’s too. She says His shake was firm and nice- mmm. I was too much in a daze to even comprehend this. I just know I’ll never wash it again. And then, just like that, He was gone, to the next Fangirl in line. SO ladies, are you ready?
No really….
Are
You
READY!?
BEHOLD!!!!! ROBERT PATTINSON!!!!!!!!
OK I know, He looks hungover but seriously, He was just as hot in person. Seriously. He doesn’t look like a normal man though. More like an angel. A bit smaller than we expected. Maybe 6 foot, but still beautiful. And SO nice. Such a champ to put up with us.
We left feeling giddy and complete. We can die happy now. Well that’s not true, the next plan is to actually form words and try to talk to this God, but for now, an autograph, photo, AND a handshake will have to do. Oh, and did I tell you we managed to get on TV too? Yup. Look for us here right after Rob (we’re on a first-name basis now) ducks around the speaker. Right before the crazy Edward doll girls come on.
Karen summed it up pretty well after we left. She said, “You know what just happened back there ladies?”
“No, what?”
“We were dazzled.”
And yes, I’d have to agree.

Holy Crap!!!
I completely believe you peed yourself. How could you not?
I thought I was lucky to touch Ilia Kulik’s hand at Stars on Ice eight years ago.
This blows that into the craposphere.
Do you KNOW how lucky you are? His signature looks like he did it during an
epileptic seizure, and it’s still a thing of beauty.
Are you ruined for all other mortal men?

OMG. Jealousy does not begin to explain what I feel. I really enjoy your blog and have been reading for a while. I think I will just have to live vicariously through you two because I doubt Rob will ever be coming down to South Africa for a premier/interview!

I am the “stranger” from the Today Show. I just wanted your fans to know that the “slap” was more of a punch and the “expletive” was more like a series of expletives. Your reaction was one of the highlights of our trip to NYC. I hope your trip was great!
